Tomohisa Koyama

Senior Associate

Mr. Koyama specializes in international trade, energy policy, and public sector decision making. He worked for 13 years in Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), most recently as Deputy Director of the New Energy Policy Division. While at METI, he focused on legislation and regulation in the electric power infrastructure and environmental safety sectors. Mr. Koyama earned an M.S. in Technology Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and served as a Visiting Fellow at the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. He graduated from Nagoya University’s School of Engineering with an M.S. and B.S. in Electrical Engineering. Mr. Koyama was Vice Captain of the Nagoya University Volleyball Team and a member of the MIT Graduate School Volleyball Squad, ranked 16th in the country.
